Erika Song

an independent contemporary art curator, producer, and event initiator.

Currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Art, Design, and Museum Studies at University College London (UCL), her research centres on contemporary art exhibition design as a curatorial methodology, exploring its radical and critical dimensions within the context of exhibition studies. She investigates the relationship between exhibition designers, curators, artists, and visitors. Additionally, she serves as part of the Editorial Collective for the Journal of Visual Culture (https://journals.sagepub.com/home/vcu), published by Sage Journals.

In 2016, she graduated from Pennsylvania State University with degrees in Art History and Global Studies. She later obtained a master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2017. From 2018 to 2022, she served as Senior Exhibition Manager at the Fosun Foundation in Shanghai. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in curating and producing major exhibitions such as "Saudade - Contemporary Art from China and Portugal," "Yayoi Kusama - All About Love Speaks Forever," "Alex Katz," and "Tadao Ando: Endeavours." She also spearheaded and lectured in the Fosun Foundation's public education curatorial series.

In 2023, she independently curated and produced two contemporary art exhibitions in China. "In Between" showcased young artists grappling with the liminal state of uncertainty and ambiguity at Entrance Space in Zhengzhou, China. "A Journey of All and None" was a retrospective solo exhibition featuring London-based Chinese artist Jacky Tsai at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning in Shenzhen, China.
